Finally got to see Waiting for Superman tonight. I've been wanting to see it since I first saw a trailer for it over a year ago. I felt like someone stabbed me in the heart when I was watching it. Very sad and eye opening. It made me think of John Mayer's song Waiting on the World to Change. I really feel like my generation is going to be the generation that stops WAITING for things to change and actually take initiative to make those changes. When I think of my friends, the people surrounding me, who are currently in college we are all going to school to obtain "helping" degrees. Social workers and teachers make up the bulk of us.The notion of "waiting" for things to get better...waiting for hope to come...that just makes me sad. We need to go out and exert ourselves, and now I must quote Gandhi, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
